DMET 1040 Seminar in Brain Computer Interfaces

Course Information


  • This course is intended as an introduction to the emerging area of brain-machine interfaces (BCI). The course goal is to teach you how to record brain signals and how to analyze them. You will also learn about applications of BCI such as security, lie detection, alertness monitoring, entertainment, gaming, education, and human augmentation. Topics include; - EEG Basics - Signal Processing in BCI - EPR Processing - Analysis of Complex Brain Processes - Control programming. Seminal works in brain computer interfaces will be presented and discussed. BCILab Toolbox and sample EEG data sets will used by students to replicate the works reviewed in the course.
