DMET 1044 Seminar on Interfaces and Systems for the Classroom

Course Information

  • The teaching practice did not change much since the Greeks time. Students sit down in the same layout in a mostly passive mode. An instructor delivers the material with infrequent interruption from students. The popularity of intelligent devices such as cell phones and smart watches combined with advances in ubitqutious computing, computer vision, and hardware, create an oppertunity for redefining the instructing exprience. In this seminar, recent HCI works related to the area of classroom and teaching will be discussed. In addition, relevant works from the educational studies field will be reviewed.
