DMET 1051 Seminar in Interaction Design & Evaluation

Course Information

Abstract

  • This is a graduate seminar focused on the design and evolution of gesture-based interaction techniques for performing basic HCI tasks as well as controlling complex applications. Gesture-based interaction provides new and often more natural ways for humans to communicate with computer systems. The seminar will cover original research in human-computer interaction, including symmetric and asymmetric two-handed interaction. In addition to leading discussion on assigned readings, students will work in small groups to prototype and evaluate new gesture-based interaction techniques.
